Kew CC is a rare jewel. A place where you can play, or watch, a high standard of cricket, on a Green of historic importance, in a superb village setting, right in the heart of London! Kew CC manages to combine a serious attitude to the game, whilst preserving the friendliness of a community - Kewmunity.
Kew CC emerged from the amalgamation of two local clubs, Kew Oxford Cricket Club and Kew Cambridge Cricket Club, in 1882. But cricket had been played on Kew Green for many years before this. Records show that In August 1732, Frederick, Prince of Wales attended "a great cricket match" at Kew on Thursday 27 July. A few years later, The London Evening Post dated 16 July 1737, noted a match between a Prince of Wales XI and The Duke of Marlborough XI. It is from this match that our current club crest was derived.
We run 5 adult teams - 4 in the Saturday Thames Valley League and a friendly Sunday team. Kew CC were Division 1 champions in 2014 and runners-up in 2015.
Our burgeoning colts section caters from ages 6+ and has 6 teams playing in the MCA South leagues (u9, u10, u11,u13, u15 and u17).
We welcome new players or, if you just want to watch, why not join as a Social Member and enjoy the best seat in town with a drink and some food.
