What. A. Game!

Our u13s produced a game to remember. Playing a strong Wycombe House side in the u13 Plate competition, our u13s took it down to the wire as the sun was setting g on God's Green. The game started in sombre mood as the players gave a silent tribute to John Dance, who very sadly passed away the day before. But the game soon sparked into life.

WH were inserted on a scorcher of an evening and piled up 159-3 in 20 overs. Middx Regional cricketer Nabil scored a magnificent 104* (17 4's and 3 6's).  Our bowlers and fielders (9 to start with until Bruno came in as a late substitute) worked hard to keep the runs down. Well down to Indy Sherlock, who used all his mothers guile to bowl tidily 3-0-28-0 and to Josh Blitz who kept very well at his first attempt (again must be something passed from mother to son!).

A daunting total, but our lads were anything but daunted. fter an early setback of losing Jaidan, Lloyd and Sean in quick time, Ed Sykes and Jamie Benson set about the WH bowlers. Ed Sykes produced a near match-winning innings of 93 (14 4's) to get Kew so close to the target. Inevitably it was Nabil who bowled him. Kew CC finishing on 149-8.

A bit more discipline with wides and no balls and Kew CC would have won. We bowled 11 more and the target was exactly 11 runs away!
